About Face

These are drying nicely in the kitchen...
These pants are about to get glazed...
I wasn't happy with the first batch of faces...
So, I remade hearts and faces...
This was a final face...
For some reason, the glazed faces turned very blue...
Here is the newer version...
Trying this out on some wedding cakes...

Work, Work, Work.

I made another group of flat faces today...
This young man is wearing shades...
This lady has an odd hat...
Lunch break, after dropping off more mom clothes...
Finished sanding all of the food...
And, the kiln is humming away...
Winston is celebrating his fourth year with us...

Cleaned out the laundry room cupboards, adding bins...
Cleaned out the small kitchen wall cupboard...
Sorted out all of the bathroom storage spaces...
Cleaned off my incredibly messy desk...
This is the "before" picture...
This is the "after" picture...
This is the correspondence drawer...
Now there's room to work...

Kevin & Olivia Get Married

Waiting for the festivities to start...
Beautiful flowers and hot weather fans...
Olivia and her dad...
Lucky to get some Miss Jordan time...
Family and friends...
I love seeing Kev this happy...
A new life for this nephew...
My sister and her husband...
Tucking into some treats...
A lovely day...

Hungarian Sprig Molds

I started rolling the vintage Hungarian wallpaper paint rollers into a soft, white clay. I'm hoping that these will make great sprig molds, because I like the pattern shown on the rollers, better than when the pattern is pressed into the clay. So, these strips will have to dry completely. Then, they will get bisque fired on their sides in the kiln, to prevent cracking. I can't wait to see how they turn out! And, then to actually use them! A sprig mold makes an image when wet clay is pressed into the mold. The clay doesn't stick, because the mold has been bisque fired. So, the clay pulls away easily and accepts the image.

Grant models a saucy chapeau...
These clay ladies are super awesome...
Stopped for biscuits and gravy in an Albany log cabin...
