I started rolling the vintage Hungarian wallpaper paint rollers into a soft, white clay. I'm hoping that these will make great sprig molds, because I like the pattern shown on the rollers, better than when the pattern is pressed into the clay. So, these strips will have to dry completely. Then, they will get bisque fired on their sides in the kiln, to prevent cracking. I can't wait to see how they turn out! And, then to actually use them! A sprig mold makes an image when wet clay is pressed into the mold. The clay doesn't stick, because the mold has been bisque fired. So, the clay pulls away easily and accepts the image.
